In order to support climate protection, SAFECHEM has partnered with Stadtwerke München (SWM) to voluntarily offset 90 tonnes of unavoidable CO₂ emissions in 2022 by supporting Gold Standard-certified, international climate protection projects.
With this engagement SAFECHEM was able to operate on a climate-neutral basis in 2022 for Scope 1 and 2 emissions – far ahead of the EU’s legal requirements of climate neutrality in Scope 1 and 2 from 2030 onwards.
We have supported two international climate protection projects, with each compensating for 45 tonnes of CO₂ emissions:
Both projects also promote UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and thus make a social, ecological or economic contribution locally at the same time.
In addition to committing to international carbon offset projects, SAFECHEM also voluntarily supports the maintenance and expansion of renewable energy plants in Germany – thereby contributing to greenhouse gas reduction in the country and the achievement of national climate targets.
